A Pour-Over Tasting & Sculptural Casting Workshop with Xavier Allen

Description:
Slow down with Xavier Allen at Ratelier for a special workshop combining a coffee tasting with sculptural casting. Inspired by the current SLOWWAVE 2.0 exhibition brought to you by The New Other at Ratelier, and the artist’s love of coffee - this experience invites guests to explore texture in both liquid and form.
We’ll begin with a guided slow pour-over tasting of several single-origin coffees, encouraging guests to slow down and explore the layered notes, textures, and finishes within each cup.
After, the grounds of your choice will be infused into a plaster/cement mixture and poured into a premade mould to create a terrazzo scent diffusing stone for you to keep. During the creation of the diffuser, you’ll learn the basics of casting, sanding, and sealing sculptures.
Bring an overshirt or apron (for mess), gloves, mixing pots and everything else will be provided.
